SHEEP DOGS OF THE NORTH POLE
One Saturday morning I awoke and switched on my computer with the intention of editing a film. But that never happened, oh no. Instead, my fingers had seen something and with a mind of their own began instinctively chopping some images together - it really was quite extraordinary. As a bystander, I gave them my full support.
Although this birth was a spontaneous and somewhat miraculous conception, I must say – the content has been in development for several years, often pushed forward with some kind of blind faith on my part. You see, I am a traveller and have been guided thus far by a humorous, purposeful and somewhat poetic entanglement of events which I like to think of as ‘synchronicity’.
My fingers got the ball rolling so to spea in attempting to capture this phenomenon and with my support in framing the collages, together we stitched three layers of life into a single new document - a still life - depicting how cultures and memories drift and blur between one another as life echoes into the future.
